Assemblies

The whole school attends Morning Assembly, usually
once a week at the start of the school day.
Morning Assembly may be taken by a member of the
teaching staff, a pupil or group of pupils, a visiting
speaker or a member of our chaplaincy team.

If parents do not wish their child(ren) to attend
Morning Assembly they should indicate this by writing
to the Rector. Alternative arrangements will then be made for their children during this time.

School Office

The School Office is located to the right of the main entrance and is open on weekdays from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm during term time.

Adults visiting the school, with or without a prior appointment, should go in the first instance to the School Office where staff will make arrangements and issue visitors' badges, if appropriate. These badges also contain important information about fire evacuation procedures.

Pupils who need to leave school for any reason during the school day are required to sign out in the appropriate book in the office, with their reason for leaving, and to sign in again on their return.

A member of staff in the office is trained in First Aid and will deal with medical and other emergencies, being in direct contact with the members of the Senior Management Team and janitorial staff.

Lost property can be claimed from the office. Pupils who need to phone home on an important matter may ask to use the office
phone. This reduces the need for mobile phones in school.

Transport

Pupils living three miles or more from the school
are transported to school free. Pupils who live
less than three miles from the school or outwith
catchment area may be conveyed as a fare
paying passenger if there is space on the bus,
but this cannot be guaranteed.

School Lunches

Our cashless cafeteria system is called “Café dg” and pupils may choose to have anything from a light snack to a full 3-course meal, paying accordingly. As well as the individual healthy options we offer Meal Deals which consist of three courses for £1.50 or £1.70. All food and purchases must be made using the Young Scot Card which pupils top up from machines around the Link area. No cash will be accepted at the counters. If parents opt to pay by cheque or notes, this will take a day to be processed by Combined Services
and their kitchen staff. Only in special
circumstances will kitchen staff be able to
override the system.

It is the intention that healthy options
should always be available to pupils and
parents can ask Combined Services for a
printout of the purchases made by their
child.

As a guide to parents, it would be
reasonable to provide pupils who pay for a
school lunch with £1.70 per day to credit
their Young Scot Cards. Pupils may, of
course, bring a packed lunch from home and take their lunch in the Dining Area.

Free lunches are available to families whose income is limited and application forms may be obtained from the school office.
